Field of Lace

A Brief Background StoryA Brief Background Story

This work has been given the "BEST IN GRAPHICS" award in the 2010-2011 Arkell Annual Juried Art Show. This is my first award of this type and it's so exciting for me. This field of Queen Anne's Lace was found at the Campbell Road exit from Highway 890 in Rotterdam NY. I love the way one can peek through the tree branches on the left side and see more "Lace" on the other side. The tree resembles a breaking wave to me. I converted it to gray scale to get away from the ever-present yellow green. I was also able to highlight the leaves a bit more. This work is 39"x16" in size.
